Sweet Springs, Missouri – October 26, 2010 – MCH Strategic Data announced today that the integration of its education database with the QED Education Database has been successful. “The merged database now exceeds the size of the QED file when it was removed from the market in February 2009,” MCH CEO Peter E. Long said.
The company reports that it’s database of K-12 school personnel now features more than 4.6 million educators with 2.5 million email addresses. “We have completed the biggest updates of the K-12 educator database,” Long said. “We are still working on a number of further enhancements, but the growth of the file will not be nearly as dramatic.”
MCH Strategic Data (MCH) purchased the current, updated QED education database and related assets from Market Data Retrieval (MDR) on September 16, 2010. MDR’s divestiture of the QED assets was part of a settlement of an action brought against its parent company, Dun & Bradstreet, by the Federal Trade Commission in May. The purchase price and other terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquired database also included more than 700,000 records added by MDR since its acquisition of the file. As a result, the merged database includes data from all three companies. “Only MCH can provide the combined efforts of every major compiled education database,” MCH President John F. Hood said. “The QED Education Database is the best-sourced education marketing data available, with a unique advantage over MDR’s offerings.”
Since the acquisition, MCH has also taken advantage of portions of the FTC consent order that allow some former QED clients to cancel MDR contracts and permit some MDR employees to take jobs with MCH without non-compete penalties.
Former MDR and QED sales executive James B. (Jim) Holt joined MCH on September 22nd. “We are delighted to welcome Jim Holt to the MCH family,” Long said. “He brings nearly 30 years of education data leadership to our team, and his extensive connections are already bearing fruit in new data agreements.” Long added that the company will be announcing further new hires and data agreements in the coming weeks.
