Former QED, MDR sales executive joins MCH Strategic Data

Sweet Springs, Missouri – September 22, 2010 – MCH Strategic Data announced today that James B. “Jim” Holt, formerly of Market Data Retrieval (MDR), has joined the company as Managing Director, Business Development. In this role, Holt will lead efforts to expand MCH’s client base for the QED education database that MCH recently acquired from MDR.

“We are delighted to welcome Jim to the MCH team,” MCH CEO Peter Long said. “He is the undisputed champion of K-12 marketing data sales. Over his 30-year career, Jim has helped the leading companies in American reach the education market.”

Holt began his career at MDR in the late 1970s eventually rising to the post of Vice President of Sales. He joined QED in 1997 as Vice President, Business Development. He returned to MDR in 2009 when the company acquired QED from Scholastic Inc. and merged the operations of the two firms.

As part of this move, Holt will reunite with his former colleague John F. Hood, who currently serves as MCH President. “Jim and I worked together at MDR for nine years,” Hood said. “He’s the most dynamic salesperson I have ever worked with. I eagerly look forward to him joining the MCH team.”

“I'm really looking forward to this new opportunity with MCH to bring new marketing and data applications to education markers who are looking at ways to improve their market reach,” Holt said. “Our goal is to become part of their marketing team not just an information provider.”

MCH Strategic Data announced its agreement to purchase QED assets, including an updated database of nearly 5 million education decision makers, from MDR on September 10. The acquisition was completed on September 16. The purchase price and other terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. MDR is a division of Dun & Bradstreet.
